As a skilled hand and wrist surgeon in Denver, Dr. Francesco Campanile is able to treat a wide range of conditions. If you have any of the following conditions, please contact us online or call us at 303-345-7476 to learn more about your treatment options.
Wrist Ligament Injuries: Ligaments connect bones to other bones to form and stabilize a joint. Wrist ligaments may become damaged due to general wear and tear over time or because of a traumatic injury such as a fall. Arthroscopic repair or surgical reconstruction of a damaged ligament with a tendon transfer or graft may be necessary to restore function in the wrist.
Cubital Tunnel Syndrome: A condition causing numbness and tingling along the little finger and outside of the ring finger, cubital tunnel syndrome is caused by compression on the ulnar nerve at the elbow. This syndrome also may be accompanied by a weakened grip and pain or sensitivity in the elbow. Several factors may cause cubital tunnel syndrome, and when non-surgical treatments such as splinting are not effective, ulnar nerve decompression, with or without nerve transposition, can be performed to reduce the pressure on the ulnar nerve.
Tendon Damage: Tendons connect muscles to bone. An injury to one of the flexor tendons (a tendon that allows the fingers to bend) will make it difficult or impossible to bend the affected finger. Extensor tendon injuries may prevent straightening of the involved joint or digit. Tendon injuries may be traumatic or can develop over time as the tendon becomes weakened (as can occur in cases of rheumatoid arthritis). Tendons that are cut or badly torn require surgical repair so that they will heal properly.
Ganglion Cysts: Found at different places on the wrists or fingers, ganglion cysts are fluid-filled sacs arising from the capsule of a joint or the sheath of a tendon. They are generally harmless, but if they cause significant pain or limit range of motion in the affected area, aspiration or surgical removal of the cyst may be needed.
